Installation
Installing your Command Strip Wall Products
Before you get started
Command Strips are not supported for every surface. Do not use on:
- Ceilings
- Wallpaper
- Soft surfaces, such as fabric
- Freshly painted areas. Wait for at least 7 days after painting
- We don't recommend using the Lego mounts or larger items on doors, or moving sections
- For more please see the Command Strip website
Instructions
Follow the step by step instructions to add your product to the wall. We also have a video you can watch on our Instagram:
If you are installing a wall mount, make sure nothing is attached to it before starting (For example, remove the Lego car from the wall mount first).
If your Command Strip is already attached to your product, you can skip to step 4.
Step 1
- Make sure you've got the right size of Command Strip for your product. The product information on the website specifies the correct size.
- Attach both of the Command Strips together, using the Velcro sides.
Step 2
- Remove the plastic cover from one side only.
- Using the top corners (opposite side of the pull tab), align the Command Strip into the assigned space for it on the product. Make sure the sticky side is facing the product.
- Slowly apply some pressure as you stick the Command Strip.
- Note: Some wall mounts have the pull tab sticking out. This will not be visible once the item is hanging from it.
- If your product has more than one Command Strip, repeat this step until they are all added.
Step 3
- Wait for at least 1 hour for the Command Strip to stick.
- While waiting, decide where you are going to place your product on the wall. It may be helpful to mark a spot on the wall where you plan to place it.
Step 4
- Now it's time to place your product on the wall.
- Start by removing the plastic cover(s).
- Place your product on the wall, making sure it's aligned straight.
- Slowly apply some pressure as you place the product on the wall.
- For larger products, you only need to put some pressure on the back of where the Command Strip is mounted.
Step 5
- Wait for at least 1 hour for the Command Strip to stick.
- Important: While waiting, do not hang any items on the wall mount.
Step 6
- Installation completed! Now its time to hang that Lego up and show it off
Removing your Command Strip Wall Products
Velcro Command Strips allow you to temporarily remove them. Slowly twist or pull the product and it will slowly come off leaving the other side of the Command Strip still attached to the wall.
Due to some walls, both sides may come off. If this happens, only the wall side needs replacing, the side mounted to the product can still be used.
To permanently remove the Command Strip, slowly pull at the pull tabs. This will remove the sticky part. When removing the wall section, pull very slowly to reduce the likelihood of paint being removed too.
